So i have a 97 wrx,
Have put in a version 3 sti motor and im running it with a version 5 wiring harness.
I have no power to the fuel pump and no spark.
V5 harness is not the cars original harness.
I think i need to do a pin swap at the computer.
Any ideas?

Firstly get yourself access to a wiring diagram schematic of both the type of ecu you are using and the pinouts of the sensors and fuel pump.
you will need to trace each wire by means of a continuity test using a good known multi meter.
you also need to know all your earthing points also.
Sorry its not much help but this is were i would start.

I know this thread is old.. but..

You know that original 97 loom is compatable with the STI V3 engine. way more than a full V5 STI loom..

The ICV wiring won't connect up.. Sensors are diffrent. The STI V3 manifold won't work with V5 throtable body.. With out some mods..

Why did you remove the 97 loom??

Was it incomplete??

i have just put a v3 sti in my 97 wrx.. and have no spark at the plugs. did either of you figure out this problem? my guess is i need to do some re pinning of the ecu plugs. can anyone show me where i can get a copy of both v3 sti and 97 wrx ecu pin outs?? thanks in advance..
