Interestingly this article refers to the area under the curve, and not above...

Yes very true. Especiqlly in the case of acceleration and speed.
In the case of power(hp), torque and rpm, this will apply as well, with area under the curve, as all 3 are correlated. Edit: That is if we plotted 2 variables on the x and y, with the 3rd variable as area under the curve. But the power run plots are rpm vs torque and rpm vs hp. In the sense of Load, which can include variables such as boost or throttle position, plus the hidden variables which are not kept constant, such as ignition and AFRs, the power run will invariably have area above the curve. Trying to go off for drinks Bird. Will use the leftover brain cells and try to illustrate with a plot tmr. |
Astralex, Bird was a uni mate.
Edit: don't jump to conclusions yet as this is getting very constructive.
Interestingly this article refers to the area under the curve, and not above...
|
im an engineer, yay I can have a say for once!!!!
i have never heard of area ABOVE the curve..because yes I agree, the area above a curve is infinite.. me no understand?! edit: oh.. ok will check back later |
Who your pals are is not my business nor of any concern to me. My remark is directed to the complete lack of any above the curve business that a certain someone has referenced.

Newtons laws of physics v= u+at is what was referred above. As mentioned, there were variables kept constant as all 3 variables were correlated.
Going for drinks! |
Pls stop making a fool of yourself. You obviously do not know what is being discussed.

I am? I'm at UWA currently studying Engineering, so i'm not sure if you have me confused with someone else? |
Sorry Bird, yes I got u confused with someone else.
Edit: Will post more info tmr.
I am? I'm at UWA currently studying Engineering, so i'm not sure if you have me confused with someone else?
|
Can u get my car to run above the curve ?
