Question Needing advice on getting a tune for my sti swapped outback

hey just joined the forums today. So I have an 03 Outback with an Sti/wrx engine swap, and I know shit all about tuning but as far as I know it has a flashed outback ecu in it.
I just got a stock 06 wrx turbo back installed to get it over pits as it previously had a 3" straight pipe turbo back which it was tuned to.
Pretty much just need to get it tuned to get it running smoothly but im also on a tight budget. Any recommendations on where to go thats not too exxy? and any advice to do with this stuff for a beginner in terms of what to look for and when its a necessity to get a tune. Cheers

EvoR will be the cheapest among all other subaru specialists locally. Otherwise, looking into email tunes.

Remember you pay for what you get.
Its not wise to pay to much and get too little,
But its not wise to pay too little, and expect too much.

For tuning, try:

Race Torque Engineering
Maximum Motorsport.
AllStar Garage

There was an Outback for sale in WA earlier this year, and it had an STI engine swap. It was sent over from NSW, and it struggled to get registered here due to the engine and driveline swap. Does yours have WA rego? And further (I don't expect you to know this off the top of your head, most people wouldn't), if it does have WA rego, does the rego match the VIN?
Rossco and Patch like this.

I think the outback you're talking about is the one I have now, my mate has had it for the past year and I got it from him unregod so its never actually been regod in W.A. Got a pretty clear list of things from mechanics though and if it doesn't get over pits the first time at least ill have a precise list, although so far its looking pretty hopeful.

Ill give those places a ring as well and see what I can suss out
