America didn't get the STI till 2004, so what an american says on this topic isn't worth shit. As mentioned, STI versus WRX everything around the manifold is different, injectors, inlet pipe, Y pipe etc, so concievably they could be seen to flow better if you swapped the lot. the 2 door versus 4 door theory is pure crack pipe too. MY99's had more timing in the ECU and put ou more power than an MY00. Pick them up side by side and have a look, the difference is the paint.

I know that the sti has a different Throttle body than my old wrx. The canister purge on my old rex went to the throttle body, and on my sti it goes to the intake manifold. The wrx has a completely different pruge system in total to my sti though.

Until someone actually cuts one in half so that we can see the internal cross section and compare say the sand cast finishes and internal port diameters etc..

its anyone guess..

However i do like the way people "assume" things are better by just "looking", a true measure would be a flow bench test...

asfaik the new age sti manifolds are one in one (comparison btw 04 model manifolds), however what makes the sti flow better is not having the TGVs which leads to a restriction.

To be noted though, without flow testing it nobody except suby know the real answer to that. (so maybe buying the sti mani may be a good idea, to eleivate any doubt??)

I also have seen both a TB from a 03 wrx and my 04sti Tb and there seems to be differences in their appearance, however the diameters are the same..

I believe Rigoli would know more. The Veloce, Tomei and Tino's are pointless when a STOCK MY99 manifold can push these figures

why not use any inlet manifold, cut it up and port and clean up and rewelded, the ver3 have a better finished internally manifold than other early manifolds, especially were the injectors sit in, could send a manifold over east to the place where they force paste through the manifold. I use 10mm tufnal gaskets in between the manifold and the head to reduce heat sink........
