WTD: Surge Tank.
Chaps/Chapettes...
As title suggests, any motorsport fiends got one sitting getting dusty in a workshop/shed somewhere...? Dont really mind what size/capacity, (2,3L etc), or if it has one/two 044's hanging off the side of it or whatever. Just want something that bolts easily into the boot, (Yes D.I.Y Mr Cooper ) to work with the Walbro intank, to stop the chronic surge I get at anything less than 3/4 tank. Failing that, Ill just get the PW one, (as I already have 3 PW parts in the car anyway and I like Kevs work), but just thought I might be able to get away with not spending a grand. Answer by PM please. Brent.

Get the PW one mate..
Put it this way.. by the time you buy the teflon hoses and fittings, a decent surge tank, and have your pump cradle modified with braze on fittings to suit the in-car arrangement, you'll spend 700 bucks or more before you even buy a fuel pump. For a bit more, you've got the plug and play PW one that mounts UNDER the car, meaning no dangerous leaks in the car should something fail.. and no one will hassle you should you ever have to go over the pits (fuel systems inside car aren't something that the guys at the pits enjoy very much, ask me how I know). The biggest advantage is that the PW kit has the factory-type fittings so you don't have to modify the pump cradle in the pressure side.. so it means you can reverse the procedure very easily if need be Last edited by BALISTC; 29-03-2010 at 03:00 PM. |

I had the PW tank as u know, great kit for one pump imo, i wouldnt put two pumps on it as it really dosent work..
As for surge tanks in the boot if you want to go custom, i have 0 fuel smell. Run teflon braided hose and stainless surge tank and youll be laughing... It will cost more than the PW surge tank though, however the PW surge does not come with braided lines and does leave a fuel vapour if you are outside the car.. You also want a filter after the surge tank before the pump and then another filter in the engine bay..

Noting my car only produces half your power, I think the PW one with the one pump will be more than enough in my application... hahaha. (Well I mean, the Walbro supplies the fuel fine for the power im making at the engine, just not around corners... ) If you still have the PW one Tino, PM me a price, and Ill take it off yours hands... Brent.
