As i too believe if you're gonna do something, do it right. But right now, its just getting done so i can actually get to work and make some more cash to pay for a proper rebuild!
have you considered buying a bunky for a daily so you can rebuild the wrx slowly as money permits? I bought a 2k corolla when i popped my motor back in feb, has been the best 2k ive ever spent, reliable, pretty fun to drive and i think that 2k outlay has saved me in the long run as ive been able to do exactly what i want to do with my RA and not cut any corners. If you're going to want to chase power in the future, your best bet would be a 207. Don't panic, sit back weigh up all the options and the right decision will pop up.

Im not too fussed on power, i mean, id like to yank the boost to 15-16 psi, maybe 18 tops. But nothing crazy! Just something that pulls a bit harder than stock, which im assuming a 3"TBE, CAI,Tune, fuel pump ect would do.

thats about as far as performance goes for me, i just like the way she handles =P

I have one Jap MY00 Forester STi engine available. 116,000km, guaranteed good runner, comes as a long block with turbo and exhaust manifolds. You would need your inlet manifold and to swap over some sensors. $1800 take it away, or bring in your blown engine complete/dressed and I'll swap everything over/dress it ready to drop back in with a new timing belt for $2200.

Doug = Seriously good bloke... That is a great offer, and you'd be crazy to pass that up given your situation IMO!

They're both EJ205's. The turbo, Inlet manifold, wiring connections, injectors and sensors are slightly different. Forester does not have an oil cooler, WRX does. All that can be swapped over from your existing engine. Recomend a new timing belt and waterpump be used if the history is unknown.
