Default turbo

Manual or auto Gt? if it is an auto it will be a Vf38, manual will be a Tdo4hla.

Sounds good I will ask my mate when I see him next week. Is it a direct bolt on? I'm assuming this will be better than his current turbo, wonder if it matters on performance if it's a auto or Manual?

The vf46 is not a twin scroll turbo, do you know if it is an auto or manual?

I've got a feeling this was a really common problem, ring Doug at STechnic to confirm, there may be a fix before it happens again........I'm sure there was one in the workshop last time I was there with a blown turbo and recollect him saying it happens all the time but I'm old so memory not so good.

yeah when i bought mine ( '03 gen4 turbo ) Doug/Damien mentioned that the turbos seemed to give trouble/blow around the 100k mark but i can't remember what they said happens or why.

in saying that though, mine had 144k on it when i sold it last week and it was still on the original turbo and going strong.
