When do you hear the noise?
Going over bumps?
Driving on flat road?
When cornering?

Congrats on the purchase

If its still got stock suspension then the rear struts are a known issue...not much you can really do but replace them.

rears are known to knock but nothing to worry about
the rear diff will clunk on slow tight turns, leave the DCCD in Auto 99.9% of driving

You can remove the insert from the shocks (front and rear) and grease them. All cars with inverted struts will creak once the grease installed from factory has dried up.

It's not really a DIY job though. See if the dealer will cover it under warranty otherwise seek out a workshop who know Subarus and they'll do it for you. In my opinion it's worth greasing the OE struts rather than buying cheap new shocks. Most high end shocks are inverted too, so they will need greasing in time as well.

I have the same issue although it's not too bad yet. They were replaced twice under warranty as well.

There is a mod on NAISOC for tapping and putting a grease nipple on the strut when you pull it apart so you don't need to keep pulling them apart, don't know how effective that would be though
