Depending on application and budget it might be a good idea to get a new EJ207 short block from Suburu (2-3k). Should be able to get any of the workshops in the workshop thread to swap it over.

^^ WHS new is cheap, has a warranty etc.

how long? warrenty 12months? and say if its installed already and then there's a fault in the future would they exchange it for me plus the labour.

12 months warranty on new parts. that is what Subaru supply on parts fitted outside the new car warranty period, and not fitted by a dealer. This doesn't cover workmanship, that is up to who fits the parts.
