Gday all!

So which one of my nerdy pdiddy mates has a SATA hard drive docking station that I could borrow for a couple of days?

I have a 500gb SATA drive from my old ps3 which I want to put in my new ps3, and it isn't playing very nice.... so I want to format the shit out of it and start fresh.

Preferably NOR, but will drive if i need to.

If you can't find any one, I do have one of those SATA to USB adapters (something like this) that should be able to do the job.
Haven't tried using it to format a hard drive yet...

You dont need a dock. Just plug it directly to your motherboard on your pc the connectors for Laptop and Desktop drives are the same.

I can do it at my work if you want me to next time you are coming by.

Doesn't help if you only own a laptop!

Edit: Sam, there is a feature/function in the PS3 menu that allows you to format/wipe/backup the internal hard drive, tried giving this a go?

Cam: only own my lappy, so no go (alread thought of that.... Again, if no one comes up with the goods ill keep you in mind. Maybe ill swing through your work again for chinese food and a coffee (how long will it take to format???)

Tony: Yeah tried it, no love. I think it is something to do with it wiping everything but keeping the playstation software on there. New slim ps3 must not like the old fat ps3 software or something?

Had no issues when i first swapped for the bigger HD when it was blank to begin with on the old ps3, so thought I would just do it again rather than fuck around trying to work it out.....
