do you have any non functioning switches from the auto that you could possibly use instead?

eg. i'm currently wiring up the (now unused) factory am/fm & tune switches on my gtr dash surround to change the front rear drive bias

Well funny you should say Bunnings, as we have a 'system' in our GC8 Gravel car....
The PRC Rules say intercoolers must be standard size and location, and a max 20L waterspray tank, so ours is 19.5L made out of PVC stormwater pipe, to fit inside the cabin near the rear left door.
This supplies a Nissan Terrano Headlight washer pump,
AutoSpeed - IC Spray Pump Test - Part Two
To a patio misting system with 5 or 6 nozzles again from Bunnings! it pumps about 400mls a minute, and runs whenever we are in stage, so for about 30 mins between services/top ups.

We have not done much testing on the intake temps, but the two times that we have had problems with it (hose blew off and it pumped dry) the driver has noticed the engine being slightly down on power, so it must be doing something for intercooler/intake temps. When stationary, you get a big mist cloud coming out of the bonnet vent!
Sure it is not pretty, but it was cheap, and seems effective.
Possibly not what the OP is after, but food for thought.
Wavey.
