Default Engine and trans mounts

Looking for good conidition low km OEM mounts that would fit gc8. From reading mounts up to 2007 would fit. Just checking if someone has gotten rid of their near news for some group n or other.

Buy Group N, engine & trans mounts new and never have a problem again. Plenty of places on the net you can get them from. Not recommended to use 2nd hand mounts.
GTB Liberty likes this.

Thanks ra. Have read group n's do increase the noise and vibration levels which makes sense if your stiffening up the mounts. Didn't really want it on a daily. Get your point on second hand but just wanted to see if anyone had low km in good knick/ barely used cos they did the group n upgrade. But if group n doesn't make much diff then yep will go that route .

The noise increase is marginal at best, the only noise that I have noticed since going group N is deceleration noise in 4th gear, it isn't obnoxious or intrusive and you get used to it very quickly.
Had these on my car when it was a daily commuting 80km per day and never had an issue with them at all, big upgrade over stock.

STI is different to WRX from memory.

What do you have Group N? just engine, you won't get much increase in nvh....try the whole Group N set like I have in mine, i.e. engine + pitch stop + transmission + bushes, and you shall vibrate in your seat.
The group N pitch stop, gearbox mount, and bushes being the biggest culprits for unleashing nvh.
After installing the group N pitch stop mount, vibration through the car is much more pronounced, so much that if you place your hand on the dash you feel the vibration through your body ...

btw only difference STI and WRX is the 6speed gearbox mount that doesn't go on the WRX without some hacking, everything else fits fine.

if you can hear the noise, then you're still running a stock exhaust

Nah no noise, just big difference in vibration after group N the lot... like when idling you feel it through the car

Group N engine mounts, pitch stop and 5spd transmission mount, I also have some transmission/gearbox bushings from Whiteline and have the Kartboy front and rear shifter bushings installed.
I don't vibrate in my seat at all, but I do pick up a small amount of vibrations coming through the steering wheel when stationary and the air conditioner is running.

I've personally found high spring rate coilovers to be more of a culprit of vibrations and noise.

From memory the price difference between the two is minimal, so no reason for not getting the right part from the get go.
