You are correct about plenty being available on Carsales. Unfortunately, most interstate have been modified heavily which means I will have a nightmare getting it over the PITS.

There was one I pursued in NSW until the guy told me just prior to the PPI (thankfully) that it had been in an accident. Similar story on one that was advertised locally and is still on Carsales.

Mate.... i bought a Version VI about 4 years ago. I had nothing but dramas trying to find an unmolested one. Happy hunting, but you it will take you many hours of searching to find a good one.
Unfortunately most of these cars have been crashed, highly modified or owned by teenagers since they have come down in price.
Another idea is looking at importing. If you do your research you can find genuinely low km V5/6s from japan.

SERBARU - Great to hear from you mate! Sadly I sold the car as we moved overseas. Still the most memorable car I have owned. Sold it to a guy who no doubt loves it as much as I did so no regrets on that front......

Unless you live overseas for a year with one and bring one back as a personal import, can't be done as they're not on the SEVS register.

There is a V5 on carsales at the moment from NSW. It has 68k on the clock and is advertised for $27,500

MACCAR86 - Appreciate the info but I already contacted him about 2 months ago. Sellers story does not add up. Selling the car for a mate on one day. Next time we spoke it's his car. The receipts and ownership papers are in different names. Basically the bloke inspired no confidence whatsoever.
