Been a big fan of rallying for a few years now and used to follow the WRC religiously. I got the shits with it after Subaru and Suzuki left (Not that I give a shit about the SWRT to begin with) because it became a two horse race that one horse always won. Just for shits and giggles I downloaded the highlights from the Sweden round and was suprised to find a completely rejuvinated field of awesome little cars with the new rules. The sound.. the sideways.. the loeb not winning.. it was all awesome. Not to mentione I'm a big Hirvonnnnenen fan and he was on the top step. Has anyone else come to thie epiphany that maybe this year WRC won't suck dong?

It certainly looks like its on the up again. Mini doing some rounds this year and VW seriously looking like they'll enter. And now the cars are just S2000 cars with a 1.6l turbo engine and an aero upgrade kit there should be more privateer entries as evidenced by the number of WRCar Fiesta's already running at Sweden. And the more basic diffs and short wheelbases of the smaller cars means the cars will move around more.

/WRC/ was never good.

I love it, and always have. But i love any form of motorsport (V8's, touring cars etc etc). The only problem is no-one is uploading this season's coverage to NZBMatrix so i have missed everything so far

cars are 'faster' with these 1.6's minus all the weighty electronics.

i'd much preferred them take the fancy electronics away, and leave them with 2 litres!

then they could have been faster again!
