Need some stuff, so have ordered & installed some stuff.

- 4x AD08R 235/40/18 from John
- 1x STi 6 Speed F/Wheel & Clutch sent to Jim Berry to touch in his back shed
- 1x Genuine STi Titanium Strut Brace, to replace the cheap china spec pink bits one
- 1x JDM Intercooler Splitter setup (didn't have one before)
- 1x Cusco LSD Oil
- 4x Quarts of Royal Purple Max Gear

That's about 3g right there, without dropping the box and doing the clutch. Earning and burning.

I have a fancy pants photo of the 6 speed OE clutch setup on my kitchen bench which came out of a JDM Forester STi. Interested to see what it looks like once returned, and of course how it goes in the car.

Cheers

Jesus christ it's odd reading this thread, and many others after such a long time. The WRX is gone now, it drove out the driveway a few weeks back and it was sad to see it go after what's been such an enjoyable time with a lot of great memories.

I got some reasonable coin for it though, so all in all, it was an awesome 10 years (!) and I took the most from it and thoroughly enjoyed every day I had the privelege of taking it for a drive.

Now for the new one.

I toyed around with the idea of Golf R's, I30Ns, etc and can definitely appreciate what they have to offer. They're a decent new age car. The problem for me is they are just too common. I also don't like FWD. I feel to some extent it's the default 'level-up', to modernise and retain some of that WRC/WRX 4WD turbo heritage.

I never took either for a testdrive for these reasons. So it came down to the M2 Competition and RS3. The Mrs has a A250 Merc and I couldn't fathom an A45S in the driveway next to each other and they are just to 'look at moii' despite how well they are engineered.

2020 RS3 Sportback 8V Facelift, 5200ks. Stock except:

APR FMIC
APR Downpipe
HyperTune Crashbar
EVenturi Intake / Carbon Pipe to Turbo
"Stage 2" Tune

To sum it up in one line, it's a point and shoot weapon. Not too bad around the corners, but needs a little work to get it as good as the Subaru was!

Looking forward to chucking on some better rubber and a few little tweaks here and there.

Cheers for that.

I went and had a chat to those boys a few weeks ago. Mainly as I reached out to Ollie at WestCar to do a ceramic coat/detail on it - so it was nice to see everything happening under one roof there!

Ollie did a magic job on it as well, so can't speak highly enough of his work. I had all the badges changed to the black RS ones, but other than that it's stock exterior wise.

Wheels are staggered OEM, 255/30s on the front, 235/35s's on the rear, with 5x112 fitment. So finding rims is not as easy, but the search is enjoyable enough. I noticed Weddsport TC105x is availble, in an 18". Whoopass Wednesday is back, so looking to see if I can get it into the low 11's on it's current tune in the next few weeks.

Took it down the plex on Wednesday and it did an 11.3 @ 199kp/h with no prep. Might have another 10th or so in it as is, but will need e85 and a retune to get to 10s.

In for a penny, in for a pound

Throw a turbo, cooler injectors at it and do ~330kw @ wheels on 98

Spastic quick

Planning to set it up on flex E85. Just add Dyno Spectrum DS1 Platform / SRM E85 Sensor.

Got some time and help to setup the flex e85 side of things. Using DynoSpectrum software, flex 85 is fully supported and simple to do with a little wiring and an ethanol sensor.

The software is great in that it reports the ethanol content on the dash and takes care of everything with the ECU once it begins to see an ethanol blend.

Even at E60 below, it's insanely fast. It should do a high to mid 10 at next trip to the plex.
