Well I went down a slightly different road with the tune for the Foz so I thought I would share. The stock subaru tune is average at best from my experience and the Forester was no different. As I have no plans to change out the i/c, turbo or dump pipe, I did want to get the throttle stutter and response fixed so after a bit of home work and seeing what other owners had achieved I selected a company called DW Tuning from Adelaide. The tuner is a guy named Martin Donnon. He has some excellent experience in tuning a whole range of cars including the Nissan R35 GT-R and happens to own a MY10 Forester XT as well.

Basically I bought from tactrix an Openport 2.0 smart cable and downloaded for free software called ecuflash and romraider for my laptop. Then I downloaded via OBD II port my stock rom file and sent a copy to Martin. He in turn did his magic and returned a new rom file with the tune. I then flashed it to my ecu. Results are very pleasing in the short time I have had the new tune installed. Way better throttle response, idles a bit higher and no more subaru drive by wire stutter.

As if ur not changing around fuelling, boost, timing etc i cant see why there is a need to chuck it onto the dyno...
