Though it was about time to update this little corner over here. First post has been collaborated together to save readers time, however it is Joe essay length and too many words to continue contributing to that.
So since the last update there's been a year and a bit between it. Events like motorvation have come and gone, No limits nights you seem to break things, skidpans full of skids, grudge match with wrx vs evo, numerous amounts of cruises and 2 gearboxes broken later. To start off with, Motorvation ended up ok. Some points were awesome, some not too awesome. Being able to hang out with friends all weekend was definitely a highlight, coming close was being able to beat a whole heap of static show cars in the driving events, especially since I sucked big time in them. A couple of weeks later attended my first No limits event up at Barbs. The car went on hiatus after that, requiring some new suspension and other bits. In comes some gravel spec DMS50s to replace the springs that had served me quite well up till that point. The plan originally was just to replace what was needed however these came up too cheap to not instant buy. Unfortunately also had to put the old wrx wing back on which was a shame. I did fall in love with my prodrive with and one day hope I can get something similar back. Did the last round of Wrx Vs Evo at the motorplex, however did woeful in placement. But because of that, it had made me more motivated to learn to be a better driver so I could someday actually be competitive. For the car though, after all the hard yards it had endured, wrx vs evo proved to be too much for the poor gear box and 2 days later in the hands of Phil, gave out. Much thanks to Doug at STechnic, who saved my arse with one of his loaner boxes. However again in the hands of Phil, that also gave out just before a speed dome event which Chalky Micra had to take one for the team. It was always the plan to put the 6 speed in, it just never broke at the right time when I actually had money to put one in. It just meant that again the car was left alone for a few months before funds became available. However when funds did arriver a big thanks to Ludwig with the help in getting the parts supplied for the conversion. Parts needed for it were: 98 forester driveshafts Tailshaft modified 1.5 way plated diff 02 Sti 6 speed and the oils for everything. Benny (Rexist) and Phil took it upon themselves to do a DIY which I'm sure a lot of cussing was ensured due to the limited use a jack stand can provide. But I cant thank them enough as otherwise it would still be sitting around not being enjoyed how its supposed to. So thats currently how the car sits. Below is pretty much a summary of how the car is set up at this moment. I'm most definitely sure I've missed parts out, but I'll update them when I remember to ------------------------------------ 99 WRX Blue Engine: 02 Sti EJ207T Short Block (Crate Block) Reconditioned 99 WRX Heads, Sti Oil Pump ARP head studs Custom VF22 with Garrett T28 internals Walbro 255lphr race Fuel Pump 05 Sti Intercooler and GDB Bov and relocated Clutch reservoir PWR CAI PWR Turbo Inlet Power Enterprise 800cc injectors 2bar boost solinoid Air-Oil Separator Power Fc Bosh Z32 AFM Yellow Top Optima Battery Driveline: 98 forester driveshafts Tailshaft modified 1.5 way plated diff 02 Sti 6 speed Suspension: DMS 50 coilovers Gravel Spec Ultrex H-Brace Whiteline Adjustable Front + Rear Sway Bars Cosmetic: 02 STI rims painted charcoal 17" Rota Revs Genuine Sti Mudflaps Defi Guages Repainted Customer WRC Blue with flake throughout Boot lock delete and debadged What it currently looks like: Thanks for taking the time out to have a read |

There's a moral in the build though . . . something about broken gearboxes and Phil ???
