How do you destroy 3 boxes is my question. Surely after 2 times you would learn not to SMASH THE CRAP out of gear changes.

Well the first dogbox selected 3rd but stayed in second somehow... Got it repaired and swapped it for a 4.44 plus motor after a few months waiting for a shift fork.
Second 3.9 box was a temporary fix but lasted 2 weeks.
And the third which is the 4.44 has lasted 41000 so far shifts nicely with no noises.

Decided to keep my car.
I have stripped it right back to a shell and its ready to get painted. Its going to be gloss black. I have also updated the front end to version 5/6.
Today I ordered a complete motor, 6 speed, ecu, wiring harness and intercooler.
They have come out of a 2004 JDM STI with 19,000kms on the clock.
I plan to rip the heads off, get them ported and polished, 264 or 272 cams most likely being kelford and get some new valves and springs.
Probably leave the bottom end as is.
Thinking about a Garrett GT3076R with external gate but not too sure if its going to fit in the stock location or if I will need to twist mount it.

Great to see you're going to battle on with the car. Good luck with the build.
Will be watching with interest.

Lots of skids kym, its got dccd

I trial fitted an 04 sti cluster to my dash today.
looks alright, I want to bend the cluster surround a little bit tho so it doesn't cut out the top of the tacho.
also the cluster should come forward by 5-10mm because theres a small gap along the bottom, but overall not too bad.

Should see if you can get a cheap GD dash etc as it would look alot better than the outdated GC one and of course be a perfect fit for the Cluster not to mention the aircon dials etc look so much better.
