Default Something a bit different

Hi All,

Some of you may know me from other forums, so sorry for the repost, but I'm bored
hopefully I dont get lynched for posting and not having a dak-dak, but am still a subaru lover.

I've been lurking here for a while, especially when I was looking for a WRX a while ago, and came very close to buying one, but all the good examples dried up at the time, so I went another angle.

Car is a 2002 VW Bora
2.8L VR6 engine (150kw/280nm)
haldex electronic 4wd system
6spd manual
Electric and leather everything

I bought it with the following mods already done:

KW Variant 1 coilovers (pretty slammed atm, haha)
Custom 2.5" cat back (replaces the HUGE rear muffler - pics to follow)
Audi A8 18x8" replica wheels
BMC Carbon air intake
Superchips Chip (apparently worth 15hp on a std car)

it looked like this:

I've done some more mods to better suit what I want from the car, including:
  • Haldex controller - so the 4wd kicks in by heavy throttle
  • R32 18x8" replica wheels with 225/40 KU31's
  • Dieselgeek short shifter
So it now looks like this:

I've just ordered a C2 motorsports ECU flash on a spare ECU which will do the following:
  • Increased rev limiter to 7200rpm (std is 6500)
  • Tweaked VVT tables for the intake and exhaust cams
  • No CEL from adding in high flow cats
The car is also in at the moment getting these put in:
R32 Steering wheel:

And a set of TT Tuning 264/260 cams

These should be hopefully good for another 20hp or so.

I took it in for a dyno run prior to the engine work, and ended up with the following torque/power:

And these are coming from the UK too, hehe.
Seat Leon Cupra-R Brakes
4pot brembo caliper
323x28mm rotors
HEL teflon lines
custom carriers

Anyway, starting to come together nicely I think, and keen on getting out and doing more motorsport in it whilst I start saving for a track only WRX (this car is more of an allrounder).
Would be keen to join any p-wrx motorsport event spots that dont get filled in the future if I'm welcome!

Thanks for reading my Joe-spec essay

Glad you're happy with it mate, came very close to have a chat with you when you mentioned swaps in your sale thread.

v.nice ride!

Any chance you can let me know when and where those brakes are going to be delivered so that they can conveniently go missing

heh, think i'll keep it to myself
And yeah, I'm glad I ended up keeping it, such a nice car to drive (though probably not quite as much "fun" as a WRX.

Yeah, police dont take a 2nd look.
Will be more sleepery if I end up doing a turbo kit, bolt onto std motor = easy 320hp atw on 7psi. Having 2.8L of displacement is a big plus.

brakes have landed

Took the car in after getting cams put in and this was the result:

Not big gains, but needs an increased rev limiter and a better tune to see the full benefits.
