I have plenty of parts held on with quality double sided tape. Also a lot of factory parts held on with it too.

I wouldn't install anything could produce lift (i.e. a rear spoiler) but anything that is pushed against the body is fine imo. So long as it is quality 3M tape not some crap sellotape stuff.
