Intro/blah
This is my track-hack-dak-dak/weekender. She’s just turned 20 and enjoys twisty roads and going fast around corners.
Had it for around 6 years now and it’s taken a while to get to this stage. Wanted one since I was about 10 watching Mcrae, Burns and Possum Bourne race and break their Legacy’s in the WRC.

Bought it standard save for a rusty fujitsobo exhaust and unknown 16” wheels. Had logbooks and also came with a few hundred yen under the seats, second set of 16" rims in the boot (which now live on a Getz for lolzhttp://i266.photobucket.com/albums/i...4032011862.jpg) a Japanese kid’s lunchbox and a box of comics along with all the Japanese sales brochures. I dropped it on coilovers immediately and started upgrading everything one at a time. Leather seats came out. They weigh a fortune. ECU and bolt on mods ensued, and I managed to break 2 gearboxes along the way including a 4.44 STI RA box. The motor has been great all this time, extremely reliable and for something equipped with the ‘worst’ of the Ej20 heads (hydraulic lifters) it has always pulled pretty reasonable power and been heaps of fun on the track.

It’s had a few different wheels over the years

Along with a few different intercooler setups

New motor is being assembled by Doug and Damien at STechnic as we speak and is looking to be installed in the next few weeks. Then it’s off to ASG for a tune and then skids.
It’s been built to be a complete package on the track and be cop friendly on the street. TBH I’m not too sure what kind of power it’s going to make or how she will go as the engine/drivetrain/vehicle combo hasn’t really been done much before. It’s a bit of a mongrel with parts from 1990-2006 on it.

Stock weight is about 1290kg but I am yet to weigh mine. Interesting to see what she does weigh as the 6 speed is f#%king heavy. Hopefully the weight I’ve taken out of the car offsets some of what’s gone in.

My brief to Sean will be that I am after good useable power throughout the rev range. Injectors will be my limiting factor for now but can upgrade them later or decap them for 700cc+. Redline could be pretty high as the heads will love it. The turbo being what it is should spool up pretty quick but I’m not too sure at what revs it will run out of puff.

Updated pics and dyno results to come after the motor is in, just waiting on some final parts (timing kit, crank pulley, cam covers, misc bolts, the diff controller) Hopefully get some stance shots too

Thanks chaps, <3's all round

Might as well update

Hit a snag with the motor assembly: Seems Southside were a bit off with the head tightening and tolerances and what not so it needs going over

Hit a snag with the original donk: It blew up.

Positives!
All parts aquired. DBA5000's are installed and diff controller is installed so at least I can get it tuned as soon as the motor is done. Tein SS have been replaced with Tein HA and it's a little less brown now with the black interior 100% done

So now she's waiting for Doug/Damien's go ahead to drop it off & do the motor

Can't wait to drive this thing in anger. Can't wait for skidzz. Can't wait for Tristan to invite me over for wine appreciation classes
