Default Mike's MY99 WRX

Hey Guys,

I thought it's about time I put up a post and details of my car.

I own a MY99 WRX, and it's my first Subaru. For as long as I can remember I've always dreamt of owning a WRX and have always loved the classic shape, so I finally ended up buying one and it is one amazing car to drive. I found one in the Eastern States and bought it about a year ago. It already had an extensive list of mods done to it and was running about 269HP, it was a very quick car and lots of fun to drive.

But decided to slowly change a few things. I had the car for about 4 months before it got slapped with a canary. Problem being to get it registered over here it needed an engineers report.

Which after 8 long months, the car still off the road and with the sticker, I finally got the engineers report and modifications permits for the car.

Worst part to all of it was getting it past the Emissions Test, after about 7 or 8 tests, a new turbo, new EURO 3 cat, some tuning it finally passed and is now registered

What I've changed so far is:

Removed the Power FC With hand controller which I replaced with the ViPEC and had the LC-1 installed, also removed the AFM and had a custom intake made with plumb back for the BOV
.

Had a Hybrid T3/4 turbo which shat it self (knew it wouldn't last) and was replaced with the Garrett GT35R and Tial External Wastegate.

Had a 3.5" Custom stainless steel exhaust along with custom dump pipe to replace the one that was on there as it had holes all down the pipe from the car being to low.

Than not long after I had that done the turbo shat it self and was replaced and so off came half the new exhaust up to the cat and had to be remade to fit the new turbo
doh!

The Car is going in next week to have a re-tune done. Looking forward to seeing the results with the new turbo.

So far this is the mods the car has currently, I'll be uploading pictures shortly, let me know what you's all think

Cheers guys, yeah it is a bit of a weapon, and it's not even properly tuned yet .

The handling is awesome to say the least.

Future mods possibly later down the track is a rebuild to EJ207. Apart from that nothing to major just yet, apart from getting it lowered back down as i had it raised right up to get it on a truck to have it shipped back to Perth (lucky for coilovers), so it looks a bit funny at the moment sitting so high.

Probably won't be my daily for a while as i want to keep the kms down on it for as long as possible as it's only got about 87xxx on it.

What figures are you hoping for with a good tune?

With half of the Cusco catalogue as Kym said, the handling should be good haha.

GL with future mods mate

I'd be happy to make 330 or more which from what I've been told should be easy enough.

Cheers mate

I wasn't aware that there were any differences between MY99 wrx and STI 4 pots.
