Don't what you're talking about John

Russ, it was a CAMS "come and try" event, so no. If the event is at RAC then yes, it can be covered because it's not run in association with CAMS.

Driver training and insurance is a very grey area. It is possible to be covered, but as always best to speak to your insurer prior.

Or say it happened on the road next to the track...

You'd probably be better off putting the money you would spend on full cover in a bank account and letting it sit until you need it. The amount of money you'd get should anything happen after they take the excesses out would be peanuts (they'll cover it for next to nothing as well)... plus they'll be asking you to pay a very decent chunk of the car's value every year.

Different circumstances, but if I did the same, I'd have 2/3rds of the car's value sitting in an account after 2 years. Plus you get to keep all the good bits and pieces on the car should anything happen.

Ouch. This is why I'm trying to go the daily+shitter route...

What speed did you hit the tyres at?

Even in the instance of full comprehensive it can be viable to get a quote before informing your insurance company.

Excess/Hike v Cost of Repairs.
