Le sigh... sorry but I can't read any more of this.

P.S I'm sorry if this offends.. I was planning on doing the same with my old WRX.. then I realised I was going to spend more money trying to make it into an STI and it was still always going to be a WRX so I got the real thing.
yes i know most people don't understand and i have been taking onboard what people are saying but that doesn't mean i have to follow every bit of advice because someone told me i'm doing the wrong thing,it is ultimately my decision to make.

I came on here with a goal and asking for help with how to get to it, most people have been very helpful but a few people seem to attack me at every opportunity saying it is a stupid idea..... that is THEIR opinion, whilst i do understand that people are trying to advise me not to go down this path because experiences they have had burn a hole in they're wallets or full of problems but i want to do this and nothing is going to stop me. i know there will be problems, unexpected costs, breakdowns and things just in general not going right but this is part of the fun with cars fixing something that is broken or making something bigger and better.

the car i have may not be in the best condition but with the vision i have in my mind it will be i just have to get it there.

ps. no offence was taken i know how frustrated some of you must be about this.

i'll keep updating but you don't have to read it if you don't want to.

anyway i wasn't happy with the times i got last night my reaction time was horrible,i nearly stalled the car on a launch and just in general the car is slow.
still had fun talking to a few people and watching the burnout comp though.

my first run i got 18.720 @73mph i didn't go until the other guy did reaction time was 1.368
second time i got it down to 17.485 @76mph and reaction time was 0.999
the third run was a bit worse 17.750 @76mph

i know i can get better times and launch better aswell so i will be going back on boxing day to improve i just need practice, i can't believe i thought i would get 15s if i'm lucky i'll get a high 16.
mitchwnz and N1GHTH4WK92 like this.

Don't worry about reaction time - ET & 60ft are the 2 that matter.

As per Blues, your time is taken from when you cross the beam, and not from when the light goes green @ WAW, so you could have a 5 second reaction time, but your et would still be the same.

Just interested Cat. Have you sat in a later model suby? IE an 05 sti? I suggest you go do that then tell me you want to spend the equivalent nearly on your GC.

I cant imagine what a 17-18s would be like at the drags. When i took mine down the last 200m felt like forever. That was a 13.0.

Next WAW is January 2nd. You're going to be fairly lonely if you go next week.

What I'm about to say will probably cost me -100 Master D Christmas Spirit points

People are frustrated because you are being stupid and stubborn. You're doing it because someone has said it can't be done/shouldn't be done/will be too hard. You are trying too hard to prove something. It's awesome that you want a project car and have a goal in mind, but do you even have the income to do it properly? You just purchased a motorbike without having a license for one yet and as Doug said, that money would have been better spent or saved towards your project. It was immediate money, yet you blew it on a bike that you can't even ride yet!

People are harsh because stupidity frustrates them. Yes you're young and mistakes are sometimes a great way to learn however mistakes are still best avoided. Where possible, learn from others instead of learning from mistakes.
Riggs, Philbo, kid and 6 others like this.
