If you don't put another engine in it, it's a fail because you'll have done all of this work for nothing. Sometimes fucked up shit happens and you've got to burry it and keep going.
Master D, Soksta and mitchwnz like this.

Yes but what would happen if I spend another 8 grand and the next engine dies aswell within one day of having it fitted, what then......

but I am slightly leaning towards the 207 from an 05 sti.

Not too clued on the earlier models but...
New EJ207 short block?
Rules out the age factor, granted it is compatible with the heads and what not is currently in the conversion.
Cat likes this.

original issue was the air temp sensor telling the car it was very cold so it was using ridiculous amounts of fuel, stalling and once the engine heated up it would struggle to go anywhere and the ecu was a bit stuffed so the guys put the power fc from their v4 sti onto mine.

Bugger!!!! Chuck a 207 bottom end in it, it's a shame you went for the aftermarket computer so soon, it's probably what killed it but the rest of the car should be fine.

I don't see how 6,000rpm and 3,000rmp launches could kill something made to spin up to 8,000rpm............something wrong somewhere, maybe a bit of pinging on the knackered computer and was the car dynoed for that computer or was it just chucked in there?????

Hi Cat,

For those of us who werent at Motorplex this week, what happened to your car? Did it complete a run? Die half way through?

Does the engine still run, at all? Does it make noises?

What's the initial diagnosis? Spun bearing? Blown piston? Bent valve? Will it really require a full rebuild??
