I'm going to guess high 18s. It's good to see that you are getting numbers before you start Cat, as later down the track you will really see the improvements. Plus, if the 5 speed breaks, it's going to have to become a 6-speed later on anyway.
Good on you for sticking to a decent, although expensive path. Will enjoy every update of this rather than seeing most people our age buying a commo and going OTR, exhaust, tune, done. Out of curiosity what hp atw are you actually chasing? If you are going to replace virtually everything, I'm assuming you are aiming pretty high? Or are you just modding it to go faster no matter what the gain ends up being?

Cat.. I think you're an awesome person and it's really cool that you love your car.. but I'm sorry to say but what you are doing is insane. I've been reading this thread and everybody is telling you one thing and you are doing the other I just don't get it. I could understand if you were converting a MINT condition car, but you're not. Le sigh... sorry but I can't read any more of this.
P.S I'm sorry if this offends.. I was planning on doing the same with my old WRX.. then I realised I was going to spend more money trying to make it into an STI and it was still always going to be a WRX so I got the real thing.
