had a xa years ago and to this day regret selling it but damn you have a nice looking base for a great refurb and should end up with a great looking rig when totally finished

Funny you bring this up now, I was walking through Udon Thani n/e Thailand a few days ago and spotted this XB Fairmont?, shitty pic but I'll try to spot it in daylight and get a better shot.

I've had an XT, XA, XB, XC, XD, EA, EB and a 77 Marqise, by far the best was the XT Fairmont with the 302 Windsor which I bought in 74 and sold in 79

This was around 77

It's probably had more hits than Elvis but I've seen a few unusual cars this trip.....Like a 71 4dr Torana, HQ sedan, tonight a Peanut STI that was an English import and runs well on the local 95ron according to the owner.

A mate had the purple XA GT back in the late 70's, from memory it had silver instead of black on the bonnet, funny if this was it cos he did spent a lot on the running gear as we were working in the mine up at Leinster and I do remember the original paint being crap, it wasn't a hell of a lot faster than my RS2000 which pissed him off no end.

The car looks like a great starting point.

sweet, the best part is that its all there, will cost you an arm and a leg when you have to start trying to source things like rear quarter panels

Just seen this thread now - looking forward to tracking this build. Nice work mate.

Might move it to the driveway section for you though - even though it's not at your house :P

My first car would have been an old 77 ZH Fairlane 500 had my parents not gotten divorced when I was young.
