Going on what Alex said and reviewing footage we knew that something needed to be done. Also the fact that we had sheered 3 shafts in 3 launches kinda was frustrating enough... Had talked to Kris at Rising Sun Subaru and was gonna get the rear end from him after xmas.... Mate of mine spotted somehting in the mean time...



Neglected, external beaten up and unlicenced I picked it up for a steal. 03 MY04 STi

R180 hubs, brembos, gearbox etc all in the black bus... this is gonna be fun!

So update times for the Black Bus. Season is quickly approaching and there is a big list of things I want done before testing to begin.

So the STi is all stripped and all pieces i don't need long gone. Car is currently up on stands ready for dismantling.


Rear end is all together with the new stuff apart from the handbrake shoes etc as I'm putting ARP extended wheel studs front and rear. The thing is you have to cut the rear ABS sensor ring out to get them to fit. So that is this afternoon job. Also picked up two piece floating hat desin GiroDisc rotors and ST43 pads for the rear today.



Josh from Uneeda Panel and Paint did all my callipers for me as well and they have come up a treat. Gav did the decals for me from GT Graphics and as usual they are great. Matt from AutoPro Canningvale sourced me front and rear seal kits for the Brembos and they will be getting replaced ready for the race season.



More updates after the weekend as we are working on it for most of the 2 days.

Update time:

Saturday came around and MasterD came round as always annd gave me a hand. He started on unhooking all the engine parts to get it out while I worked on the rear brake setup.

ARP extended wheel studs have been acquired and putting them in. Unfortunately that is a little harder than anticipated. As I am not running abs anymore, the ABS rings were taken off and the sensor hole has been drilled out to allow them to be installed. Once they were done, rotors were put on aswell as brembos. Funny thing occurred that the ST43 pads from Raybestos aren't curved and as such hit the top hat bolts. Modification will be made to allow. Its only because the rears are floating hats, if it wasn't two piece it wouldn't happen.





So engine is out, gearbox out...

ABS unit is out and general tidy up occurring while everything is out! Bulkhead wiring connectors, welded holes, braided brake lines etc... gonna be a fun ride!
