Betty blue is hard parked at Racetorque till next week. Seems I am the victim of another failed DW65c fuel pump. Racetorque have another failed one on the bench from an EvoX they worked on recently.

Does anyone know what other pumps fit inside the oem in-tank swirl pot that the G3 STi's run?

The Walbro pumps we tried today don't fit and we are reluctant to use another DW pump for obvious reasons. It is a very tight fit length wise speaking, I can't format the picture that I have been emailed to show the set up, but basically the Walbro pump is nearly 20mm longer than the DW. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

On a brighter note once we have a pump and some injectors sorted it will be on E85 some time next week...

wow. another DW fail. these pumps are junk.

dont know what fits. But is it possible to go back to an older gen setup and have an external filter etc? If so, then you have plenty more options for intak pumps.

Want to stick with oem set up as I have never had fuel surge at the track and I always run very low fuel levels.

Parts were supplied by Racetorque, they purchased them through Prospeed. I've since heard they are a Chinese rebranded pump or some shit...

Whatevz just want it sorted so I can do another 13.....

No chance mate, car is locked up at Racetorque. Even if we got a new pump in yesterday Lane is not there to run a re-tune, he is back on Tuesday so I just have to be patient.

Are you suggesting Prospeed sells knockoffs? Joke.

Managed to attach the picture of the two pumps and oem swirl pot. You can clealry see the difference in length of the two pumps (DW on left, Walbro on right) approx 20mm. Pump sits in the cradle at the top of the picture, then cradle/pump drop into the pot - really really good set up that works very well at the track. Apparently EvoX's use something very similar from factory.

As you can see the pot has the level float attached to it so needs to be retained.

Racetorque reckon they can shorten the nozzle at the top of the Walbro pump on the right and get it futher into the cradle. At the moment when you put the cradle back into the pot the pump touches at the bottom.

If anyone has any other ideas or knows of other medium/high flow E85 compatible pumps that drop straight in (G3 STi 2008-2014) please let me know.

Cheers.

just looked back through my records. and sure enough, i got my faulty dw300 from PSR back in 2012. It failed this year at barbs. And i kow its 3yrs old. but it had done bugger all kms. my car was a garage ornament for half of that time with a popped donk. And even when it was running, i hardly ever used it.

Maybe your right? it wouldnt surprise me.
