There's nothing around it.

You need to understand the history of it. Years ago there was an old bloke who would complain, so no cars out there past about 5pm. The club used to get 2 days a year on the long track for Easter Monday and on a weekend for eoyb but now it's basically impossible to get it due to the v8s. Couple years ago they gave us a chance to run on the long track in the evening because we have supported the venue and have a good reputation. It's worked out ok but if old mate (assuming his still alive) complains again it will probably stop and we'll only get long track during the week or for the Sprint rounds. That's why he was checking. You can argue the validity of the rules (eg fkn loud airport, highway, train lines next door) but end of the day it's their venue and we're lucky to have it.
