I don't mind my coilovers on a daily vehicle, doesn't feel too hard at all.

True, but money spend doing (then redoing) suspension would have been better spent on track time and / or other aspects of the car.

I need one of these:

Go back and modify my cars once and properly... or just tell myself to bank all that money and be laughing at the end of it all!

Russ to answer you: nothing you would consider as much or even I would consider as enough...but just enough for me to know what I want as a base to start for the handling for getting in some more serious stuff... with this car 7 skid/tuning type days 2 being with the baru club and rest on my own.

mitch/amtrapid/dan...agree to it all...
been with my stock struts on eibachs while making minor changes to see the effects and enjoying knowing this setup inside/out for over a year...now its time to get it up for some more regular stuff.

edit: have to add that stock STi inverted struts on Eibachs are a match made in heaven for a daily with few tuning/skidpans. STi made an absolute beauty of an inverted strut

c'mon you lot - if you have never done any modifications different (possible worse dependent on your view) then you probably shouldn't be commenting.

Give your advice

Accept that most people are stubborn and probably want something different to what you "believe" to be the correct answer and get over it.

90% of the comments in my opinion are correct in regards to modification

BUT

I drive a road car with a built motor, coilovers, exhaust etc

My old car could barely idle, was hard and had every bush etc changed, sat in a race seat every day blah blah blah - I enjoyed driving it 80% of the time - the other 20 I wished for a car that would start everytime, be quiet and be comfortable.

If the offset of your wheels and the look of the car is more important than how it goes on a track then do that etc etc

However (and here is the big BUT) if you ask for an opinion - accept the opinion and don't spend your time arguing back to said opinion giver as to why your version of what YOU want is the way to go (looking at you here AJ99999999999999999) - understand that just maybe they have been down your chosen path and have decided that their version is now the better way (in their opinion)

My opinion (for what it is worth) is go to actual track days (not a skidpan), sprint events etc and decide what you want form the car and decide from there.

If you want a cool looking street car slammed on the ground with aggressive offset - then do it.

If you want something that does a bit of everything - probably look at all of the above advice

More track orientated and harder etc - increase level

Boy racer who wants to tell everyone what is on the car more than actually use those components for their purpose - find another forum

Rj im sure ill see you at a few rac , skidpan etc . Im looking at rallysprint in November have done rally driving before in my younger days . Still looking at doing these days as a test and tune and to get used to the car on tarmac apposed to gravel .

Seat time is best reach the limits of your ability with what you have then one mod at a time changing that one thing then testing to see if it benifits your driving style and your limits .

Everyone has a different style and confidence level . Going to far to soon installs false confidence in your ability . Unfortunately it all takes time and very rarely will you be 100 percent happy . Thats the reason so many people have track cars and daily drivers

I just cannot justify spending money on modding my car anymore at all. I've done wheels, tyres, tune, exhaust and a whole lot of suspension things. But in the end, no matter how much has been done to it, it still doesn't even compete with how fun my bike is and it's only a CBR500R LAMS bike. You get a hell of a lot more joy out of it. So what am I doing instead of getting a faster car or further modifying my current one? Upgrading to a BMW HP4 bike, fastest thing you can get. Costs like 1.7% of the price of a Bugatti Veyron and still has much faster acceleration and excitement of handling. Because in all honesty, no matter how many things you do to your car or how much you spend, in reality it won't actually be that fast and stock standard bikes will still destroy it.

What's everyone's fear of Barbs and talk about inexperienced drivers putting it into a wall? First few times on a track/performance environment for me were at Barbagallos and it was awesome, plenty of room to push it without being stupid and you really get to wind the fucker out.

RJ go to Barbagallo, irrelevant to what mods you do or don't do its a lot of fun. Just drive within your limits

Barbs is easy compared to Collie in my opinion.. Much better on brakes and faster too. So much fun, RJ quit fucking around and enter the next no limits.
