Default Amtrapids RS

Hi guys been on here for a while now and haven't posted up any pics of the old girl . She aint much but I love her . In the early 90s my two dream cars when I just started driving were the r32 GTR Skyline and a series one or two RS Turbo.
I joined the army after school and after a few stints overseas found my self with enough money to buy one of them .
An Australian delivered 1/100 r32 GTR. It cost me a pretty penny $75000 as back then they were only 18 months old in Australia ,being mad about Bathurst I had to have an Aussie one . At this stage the import scene really hadn't hit its stride and there were very few GTRs around Perth. I shall dig through my pics and scan some photos down the track and post them for you guys as digital cameras were not the thing back then lol. Anyway after several years and time to buy my first home the GTR had to go.

So brings us to our second dream car the car of my childhood god Colin . If I have to explain who he is your in the wrong place . After selling my last Subaru and not having any type of performance for at least 6 yrs. My wife could see my sad face becoming common and me turning into a shell of a man ( I actually watched a full episode of Home and Away) I saw the car I needed.

It needed some work to bring her back to her former glory but all this did was make my smile bigger .A 92 RS liberty now all wasn't to be perfect .Yes I was whole again but there are idiots out there that cant drive and like to rear end your car writing it off. I purchased her back along with a excellent GX AWD roller and a rare rolled legacy with full leather interior and climate control. Last purchase was a 96 wrx engine, box , diff and loom. The motors were pulled down and the rs short block was cleaned up and rebuilt. The wrx heads were then bolted to the block and the rs ancillary's put back on . I also used the GX
bonnet as I liked the cleaner sleeper look.Attachment 12152

I managed to get the car over the pits and all is good . So yes my body is GX rolling shell but I had no choice as the RS bodys for sale at the time were not straight enough or had rust. I did not want to rebirth a car as that is just fucked.
I didn't put the rs skirts on the GX body as they were in shit condition and I think the lines look cleaner without them. Yes I still call it an RS I know technically It isn't anymore but it has the heart of my dream car that some asshole managed to ruin.
The car in its current state has
. V4 WRX Ra heads on RS closed deck block with Cosworth pistons and bearings . Late ej2o7 rods , Phase drilled crank , 11mm STI AVCS oil pump , Port matched intake manifold , RS WAIC modified for extra capacity .

. Dccd 6 speed , Plated R180

.

As I said she aint much but puts a smile on my face . Have done competitive rally driving with a mate back in the day with a 1600 datto and a series 1 GTI Swift but never done track work . About to start that adventure and look at hill climbs, motorkana and rally sprint not in it to win just have fun and enjoy my ride.

At the end of the day I could have afforded a new STI but I like the challenge of an older car . Just don't know if the leather was such a good idea now for track work can see my ass sliding all over the place.

Wife got them for me a few years ago . I had a swb patrol that I used to do mud competitions in . What can I say I like mud lol started my competitive driving as rally then offroad racing . Might look funny now Im going to start track work especially since all the eastern european mates I went to school with used to use mud as a substitute word for shit back in the day lmao.

I have an epic soft spot for turbo Liberty's - have had 3 myself.

Such fun cars for minimal outlay.
