Much cleaner with the black on black.

As for the clutch I've been told the 5 speeds don't appreciate a HD clutch.

Therefore, oem is your best bet. Excedy make the oem one iirc.

Budget around ~1k with a machined flywheel

A slipping clutch will not drop the car into neutral...

That sounds like a dodgy gearbox

It's smelling like clutch burning as I accelerate though basically what happens is as I take off if I accelerate hard the revs rise but now power is sent and it just smells like burnt rubber

Exactly the symptoms I had when my clutch went. Except there was
no burning smell.

Does the stick move out to neutral? If it does then this may be the box. If it just spins up when applying torque then this is clutch. Often the clutch will hold with gentle throttle but will then spin once you accelerate harder.

Yeah it's definitely the clutch then by neutral I meant it was behaving as if it were in neutral it doesn't actually move the gear I should have been more precise. As I accelerate hard it spins the revs up without actually applying power. Thanks for your help though guys I'll have to take it to Mao as soon as I can afford a new clutch. Any suggestions on what clutch should be fitted I don't need or want I anything over the top just a good quality clutch

Exedy or Xtreme organic face clutch.

I have had an Xtreme clutch (STECHNIC) and my mate had an exedy (EVO R) and both were very streetable and slightly more pedal weight.

Both handled around 290HP without issue.

I've got an organic in mine. Can't fault it at all. Pedal weight is spot on.
