So while I was deciding colours one night I decided to hit up gumtree and see what was out there. Found a set of immaculate Evo VIII 17X8 Enkei rims with some used and abused A050 tyres.


A quick clean up and check over later shows a few small chips on the lip and a few light scuffs on the face but nothing a good polish and scrubs shouldn't clean up.


I should hopefully have tyres sorted by Monday and they should really pop once grey are on the car. Still deciding what to do with the DTM's but will likely give them a good clean and store them away, maybe sell them on.

Those ao50's don't look too bad from the pics. Probably 6 events left in them, maybe more.

Two are 'OK' the other two have no tread on the inside. The cost of two gets me a decent set of high end street tyres.

Seems like it, but they were a bargain. The money I paid was good for JUST the rims so I wasn't expecting much.

Too late, tyre hoarder Jacob has swooped in and requested them. To be honest the two rims I photographed from the side have decent treads, maybe two events left. The other two are shagged, inner section is almost on belts, discolouration from overheating and the rest of the tyre is average (at best).

So he will get two usable tyres and if the other two he wants because he is a hoarder

The 8 enkeis look good, nearly went for a set of those myself before finding the MR bbs wheels for sale.

So was about to pull the trigger on some AD08R's when I got a great offer to pick up some 235/45R17 KU36's and while I know they are not quite on the same level of performance they are not far off.


I managed to score them for $124 each which made them $100 less then the AD08R even including the 4 for 3 deal. For those wondering where they can score this deal, it is a one off price because they were ordered for a customer who went AWOL and the shop could not return them to Kumho. They are usually between $200 - $240 from what I have been quoted, which is still decent for a performance tyre.
