Subaru impreza wrx sti gdb my02 ej207 engine | Engine, Engine Parts & Transmission | Gumtree Australia Singleton Area - Singleton | 1129396029

Could work, would come in well under budget if you paid someone to fit it as well.

I appreciate all the comments here. Thanks very much! I just received my quote so I now have something to work off.
It seems like im gonna take a bit of a hit if I part everything out at a realistic price so it sounds like it would be benificial to rebuild it gradually. So far it's looking like 207, recon'd heads is the way to go to at least get it back on the road. I've got cams and some other stuff on that list but I'll keep it as simple as I can

I've just ordered the last of the bits I'll probably need for this so it might be a good time for a bit of an update. By the give-away from the first sentence I've decided to keep the car and replace the bottom end. There were a lot of phone calls back and fourth with a lot of different people and by the end of it I've decided on a built, bored and honed 205. A proper list of whats in it will be provided once I have it all together. I just ordered a timing belt kit and a new clutch so all thats left to get is a front lip (decided on the double lip look), cut out more of my front bumper to fit this front mount, get my fog light covers painted and attach them to hide the piping, put the coilovers in and get my new tyres on. Also going to recon my heads and machine my flywheel.

The clutch should be here at the end of the month so from then all the fun should begin! I'll post pics once we start

Be careful doing the engine rebuild route. It can quickly turn expensive.
I have recently just completed an engine build, plus six speed conversion, turbos etc. Didnt skimp on gaskets or parts and have no change from 30k.
It quickly adds up.

I do i have a version 6 sti engine (with vf28 and stock intercooler) for sale for only $1500. (Thats pretty cheap considering the heads on them alone are worth at least $800.
I have videos of it running and driving if your interested.
Only reason i removed it was i had a new high powered motor built

Be careful of buying cheap high km engines as you could be looking down the barrel of more expensive repairs sooner than you'd like. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing properly and once.

He's already ordered his parts too if you care to read his posts.
