i do recall from my PFC days that you had to match the controller model to the ECU (ie some controllers won't work with some ecu's)...
Assume same will apply for upgrading to new controller. *edit Rossco answered this....

hmmm i'd also like to be able to read my hand controller in the daytime, but not for 400 clams!
