General Practitioners - make an appointment -WHY? It's always 30 minutes after the appointment time even when you call up to check whether the GP is on time 15 minutes before the designated time. Was in their office for barely 10 minutes, cost nigh on $70 for the appointment, to get the same medication I usually get and I could have told them I needed, to then go to the pharmacist and get charged over $20 for.

So, all up, nigh on $100 and an hour of my time to get a diagnosis (that I practically told them was the situation) and the medicine that I, again, tell them works the best for the condition.

Waste of time, effort and money.

EDIT - and by the way you're not DR John Smith your John Smith MD. Go get a real degree like a PhD and then have the right to be a DR - not just absorb a title you really shouldn't have. Surgeon's have more study time than you and they don't call themselves DR.

Do what i did, order the drugs from Europe. I have a few ongoing illnesses (Diabetic, Ashtma amongst other stuff). Just last week i needed to go back to my Docs to get some pills for heartburn (caused by the other stuff i am taking). So i decided that i would check online and see if i could buy the drugs online and save some cash. For me it worked out instead of paying $65 every 3 months for Doc's appts, plus $50 a month in drugs.. i paid $200 for a years supply of exactly the same thing! took 5 days to get here from London.

The box was opened at Customs, and cleared so no legality issues either.
