Take it to STechnic in Maddington.

The old farts there have more experience together with Subarus than all the Subaru dealer mechanics put together across the entire country. They've forgotten more about Subarus than Subaru dealer mechanics know about Subarus.

Yeh thats what I thought! I took it in the first time and they just talked about some hose, then after it happened the second time I made my Dad go in and they suggested it could be the thermostat. However nothing has changed and they just replaced the hose. I'm really trying not to generalise the whole situation because I'm a female but they literally said they were surprised I had a wrx because I "didn't look the type" what does that even mean??

Ummm possibly could have been, did the rex have pink plates on it?

Yeah good luck with that. Basil's taken holiday so it's just Andy and the apprentice carrying out the workload.

Was unloadiing the troops at the playground i go to i looked up and saw a blue wrx didnt catch numberplates but there was a female passenger in the car.

I'm now thinking it's time to void our warranty and go elsewhere. I just want to put my car in, have it looked at and have all the problems taken care of it's such a drain with
this back and forth stuff. Let us know how you get on if you take it elsewhere im interested to know what the real problem is.

I think it may have been me, blonde hair?

Yes I would rather just have everything taken care of once and for all and be able to find a decent mechanic. Will check out some of the ones on the thread and let you know

More than likely the dealership just bandaged it up until it ran out of warranty to save $$ & so once it runs out they can charge you the full Stealership price for repairs.

+1637382 for workshops

I sympathise with you re your probs. Had similar.
Lucky for me, one visit to JWS in Wangara and problem solved.
Told car yard I bought her from to take their warranty and shove it.
The care my car has since received at JWS has been awesome.
Good luck and hope you get it fixed ASAP.

Mel I suggest you take it to Maximum Motorsport...they have had some recent experience with overheating issues on GD's so they should be able to assist. There have been problems with some types of coolant and also thermostats. Worst case scenario could also be a dodgy head gasket.
I'm surprised that Melville Subaru didn't diagnose it since their main mechanic Eddy has years of experience and Melville are generally regarded as the best service Subaru dealer around.

How do these workshops prices compare with subaru's? For parts and labour etc.
