Pissy small 'speedbumps' in the suburbs are not roundabouts as far as I am concerned. Next it will be law to indicate through those chicanes they stick in.

To avoid confusion it should be the same as any other intersection (indicate right for going right, left to go left and nothing to go straight on).

Proper large roundabouts, yes you need to indicate left when exiting so traffic trying to get on the roundabout can see your next move.

I tend to agree but I would only indicate left if the roundabout was large enough that those waiting to enter can't see where I came from. At small roundabouts others can see where you came from and as you say I do "nothing to go straight on".

Although not the rule I treat roundabouts the same as any other intersection. Indicate left or right depending on the intended direction. Don't indicate if going straight through.
I never trust someones indication anyway. You should never pull out in front of someone with a left turn indicator on with the assumption that they are exiting the intersection. For that reason the entire indication thing on a roundabout seems pointless to me.

Busy double lane roundabouts are a different story though. If you are on the inside lane it pays to indicate when exiting just in case someone in the left lane wants a piece of your passenger side door.

Even worse are people who don't indicate at a roundabout and turn right.

What I was taught: Before entering the roundabout, indicate left to exit left, indicate right to exit right, and nothing if going straight.

And after entering the roundabout, only indicate left to exit just prior to your exit.

I don;t indicate going straight through. Judging by how many people struggle with the indicating, i don't really want to confuse people. I see soooo many different combos.

Its not illegal to not indicate when going straight. Its something like 'indicate when it is practical/possible'. Doubt anyone could get a fine for it.

I was taught to indicate right to enter the round about, and left to exit. the only exception being if you were taking the first exit on the left
