I'd do the bov swap and then take it up to Autopower for the inspection. The guys there are really fair. If it is safe, ie no oil leaks or damaged belts etc, it will usually pass. I took a n/a Impreza over there with a loud annoying cannon and passed no issue. A mate took his RS lib with a 3 inch butler tbe with cannon and that only failed due to 15% tint. Ripped that off and passed next day.

Since when are cops able to conduct roadside measurements of exhaust loudness? Yes, I know... they can say "it's too loud" and give you a sticker. However the decibel meter needs to be at a certain angle, at a certain distance, and revs at 4,500rpm (from what I've read and a diagram I've seen).

Also, do you really have to allow them to sit in the driver's seat with the key in the ignition? Surely you can allow them to search your car, etc. but deny them starting/driving/revving it?!

I have a stock bov but no elbow or hose for it so less than ideal. I am in Hocking if you need it, but so is Dave (Master D) so probably best borrow his if he is ok with it.

Dave - is your STI used daily or can you part with your stock bov for a day or so?
