So I get pulled over this arvo on the way back from the licensing centre where I just picked up my old personalised number plates. No sooner had I turn the first corner, boom!!! siren on, lights blazing. When I stopped I got out of my car and asked what the problem was? The two officers in the unmarked Ford Explorer, yes Explorer said do you know what speed you were doing and I said yes 52/53km in a 50km zone. Which he said I think that you were going alot faster than that laughing??? I said nope thats pretty much my speed at the time you guys pulled in behind me. They then forget about the speed infridgement they initially pulled me in for and decide to go over my car which they then get the decibell reading thingy out and asked me to start start my car up. Not only did he rev the shit out of her it to get the reading he wanted, he then pinged me for the blow off valve as well.

So now I have 10 days to get my exhaust rumbling below 80db & find a plumback blow off valve?

Anyone out there got a spare 02 STI exhaust & an original 02 STI plumback I can borrow to get over the pits in the next week please?

Or if anyone has any good idea's about getting it over the pits easily that would be greatly appreciated also peeps!

BTW - Can I get permits for the exhaust and BOV from the Pits?

BOV can't vent to atmosphere... its an emissions thing. Easiest way is a stocker for that.

Dom I would just stick a stock bov on it and run it over asap get a list if any and go from there leave the exhaust unless its got no cats !

Also check that you have 90/100mm from the lowest part of your car to the floor. A good site for inspection Ive found is the pits in ozzie park. Had nothing but good inspections there.

Just not sure what to do about the exhaust now?

The officer reckons the limit was 80db? Mine was 94-6DB after he reved the shit out of her! Where would i find out the legal limit Teejay?

I have just looked this up and found it is indeed 80 dBa.

But the test is only supposed to be carried out at 3/4 the Rpms of the maximum power output not rev the life out of your engine
