Saw a torrent for Australia's Dangerous Shark Coast (WA) from Nat Geo channel, thought it might be a good watch.

Not long into it it becomes obvious it has a pro-shark cull bias, coupled with multiple interviews with Barnett. To be fair though they gave one guy 10 seconds to say how important they are to the ecosystem & culling isn't the answer. The rest of the show was all doom & gloom 'need to kill them' feel.

Useless fucks! I had some kids throw half a brick out in front of my car yesterday. These kids are also responsible for a fire near my girlfriends house a few weeks back.

Dropped my car into subaru (first mistake) this morning for a service and look over.

Service being $300 with an upper engine clean. Sounds fair. Then get a call 2 hours later saying they had the service wrong and its actually due for a big service. Ok, figured that was coming soon enough. How much? $1100. What are they doing for that outside of a normal service?

Air filter change
Rear diff oil
Gear box oil
Spark plugs

What. Seriously? $1,100 for that? That is stuff I used to do on a Saturday morning in the garage with the bugeye, and I think I'll be doing that again. At least this way I will also know what oils are going into my car etc, I just won't have a warranty anymore. Might explore other workshops now too, Subaru are just conveniently close to work.

There's also a noise coming from the RH/S when I turn sharply which I am pretty sure is a CV joint going bad but they claim there is no issue there at all, despite the noise. I guess warranty items are ignored like that? :rolleyes:

Maybe what they're quoting me is a standard price around the place, but $800 extra to change over those few things sounds like a lot to me.

I just had a major service done by stechs and they did all of the above plus more for 600buks.

Yeah waterproof to 1m for 30mins. Good feature and they make a tablet that's the same deal. All sealed charging ports etc. Yes... Didn't even realise. In my pocket and must have bent the phone and just cracked it. Not good haha

You can have your car serviced by any registered workshop and as long as the schedule is followed the new car manufacturer's warrant remains intact.
That applies for all manufacturers, it's the law and has been proven. Some dealerships have been made to retract misleading statements in the past.
