I avoided Shannon's for years because of their policies regarding storage and their valuation of my car, but am about to sign with them as it seems that unsecured undercover parking is acceptable to them now. That and what they'll insure my car for, while it wouldn't ever build it again, it's a damn sight better than anywhere else.

In my case with RAC they dropped the value of the car by $7000 and keep the price the same. Seems to be the way they work. I increased the value back up by $5000 and it was still the same price.

Play them off against each other, they have given you a 'quote' only, you don't have to accept it.

The only problem I have with doing that is the RAC is the only one who will insure the car for anything near what I want. There is a massive difference is the top values for all of them.

Wear indicators on brake pads, unknown to me why Bendix decide to put it basically in the middle of the pad other than the fact they want to scam people out of their cash money. There's still bloody 5-7mm of pad left...

The wife got talked into having Ozshut come give us a quote today for a couple of roller shutters. So after an hour and a half of high pressure sales nonsense, they were walked out the house and we have no written quote from them. The initial price was ridiculous and after all their carry on about signs out the front of the house etc, it dropped to a third of the price, but it could have been for free and I wouldn't have taken their roller shutters. What bit of 'I just want an initial quote and do not want to commit to a sale today' did they not understand? All of it apparently!! Grrr.
