Is this my fault by the way ive washed and dried the car or is it the paint protection thats faulty?

Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.
You really don't need to make things over complex....
First point: keep an eye on the paint since there have been a few problems with black.
Second point: For future reference....these so called "paint protections" are a waste of money; usually poorly applied (read swirls)...you are better off doing it yourself...it isn't hard.
Third point: Washing...1. wash in the shade 2. firstly rinse with garden hose 3. wash down with plain water from a bucket using a quality sponge (if you must use suds use Subaru carwash which is actually an Auto Glym product) 4. rinse off with garden hose 5. remove excess water drops with sponge 6. finish off with microfibre chamois
Fourth point: polishing...use Auto Glym Super Resin then finish off with a spray on/wipe off product called Plexus (available from motorbike shops)

Result: shiny hydrophobic paintwork, no swirl marks, washes easily, only needs re-polish every 6 months or so.

Thanks for all your help guys, I think i will contact
Des (autofx) as soon as i have some spare time.

Also i wasnt too sure about the paint protection but it was included
with the deal. I did find it wasnt applied that well, with some little build ups
here and there.

Im sure Des will sort it out

Sorry to dredge this thread up, but I recently had Des from AutoFX detail my black ute prior to its sale....

His work is sensational and highly recommended.

I will be using AutoFX for all the required visual maintainance on my WRX.

Like wise.....my Black 06 XT had rediculous swirls all over it.....Des worked his magic...car came back better than new.....only wish it could stay like that but whatever he uses does wear off eventually.

I beleive black cars need this treatment at least once a year and Des is the man.

HI mate, i got a black 07 as well, had the same problem, the paint protection is S#@T i was told by subaru not to get it as the car is let with water marks if you wash it at home due to the calcium etc in the tap water. If you use a canuba wax it will get rid of both water marks and more than likly you swirling

Did you end up getting the web mark's fixed. I have found a lot appearing on my car which is WR Blue.
Never had them on my old MY 98 Rex which was the same colour.
Does anyone know how they are actually caused as i have never had any problems with this before except on my black cars.

Yeah got the web marks fixed when I took it back to subi for a proper
detail as they did a rush job on the delivery of the car.

But saying that, they have reared their ugly heads and are once again
covering my paint work.

Will just have to wait and go see Des.

Got a couple of little scratches need attending to as some dumb fkrs
out there love wiping their hands accross my bonnet everytime its a little dirty.

I say to this WHY!!!!!!!!!!!! Obviously it dirt, but they still have to check!

Brainless!!! Sorry about my little rant
