Mate its not about the shape, its illegal when it shatters in a million pieces on impact. Just imagine if you unfortunately hit someone.

CF=illegal, it wont just become "legal" when it follows the same shape as the OEM one

You heard wrong.

Carbon fibre shatters upon impact which could cause shards to go flying and hurt others.

Steel / Aluminium on the other hand bends and crumples, helping to also absorb the impact.

Haven't weighed them, but I'm sure an aluminium bonnet will be the same weight as a carbon one, so any performance gains would be minor.

I could have sworn I read an exact same topic as this on this forum except everyone ended up saying carbon fibre was legal? Anyways if you search you will find it. Also says where to buy carbon fibre bonnets.
