I'll have to look, but i am sure there was nothing in the rear doors. Yeah just want it for fill really, run off the deck ( even though the shitter i got is rated at round 4x50w output from deck itself). Trying to fill in the rear a little as people who sit in the back get sick of listening to boom boooooooom boom booooooombooooom. |

1) sell the 4-channel in your cupboard and buy a dedicated monobloc for the sub, leaving the current 4-channel in your car free to actively power your splits (1 channel to each speaker). OR 2) (just an idea... probably stupid as I don't know what the power ratings of your subs/speakers are): keep the 4-channel in your car doing what it's doing, except make it power the sub and 6" split TWEETERS only. Then use the cupboard 4-channel to power the midrange of the 6" splits speakers by bridging the channeld together to get double the power (albiet with more distortion). Idea one would be best. Idea 2 is just to get my mind working

So it's finally done! haha
Took rexhunta's advice and grabbed the 16mm spacers from repco. Would've made them myself but no 16mm MDF lying around, only 12mm. Plus they were cheap enough. One thing that caught me out (and may only be a concern on MY99-00s) is the door skin. You have to allow a bit of clearance from the bottom to be able to get the skin back on. I was able to put the spacers a little higher without needing to re-cut the hole in the metal but it does take some playing around. So yeah, unless you must have 6.5"ers, I recommend sticking with 5.25". Although I am lovin the MB Quarts ![]() |
