does anyone know the speaker sizes in the my99, new to these cars, have a big system sitting waiting, but unsure of front door sizes?

6 inch speakers i think if there same as the libertys

6 inch splits in the front doors and normal 6 inches in the back parcel shelf

very hard to get most 6" in there man. go for standard 5.1/4 and save the hassles.
6" need to be fairly shallow as they hit the glass.
ive been through this twice with a wrx. not fun

6 inch, but you'll need to make a wooden spacer to get most to fit.

If its the same as a MY00, i had no trouble getting 6" splits in there. I used the existing spacer, just had to cut a bit off the back of the spacer for the speaker magnet, but there was plenty of clearance from the window

same for me with a '97, used the OE plastic speaker holder without modifing them and put a set of 6" kicker splits in

I reckon the rears are worse than the fronts. 1, they are a pain to get into, 2, the stock grills are bigger than the speaker so you gotta leave them on (which i suppose is alright for a stealth install), and 3 the grills touch the top of the splits so i had to stick double sided tape so they wouldn't vibrate

thanks all, got my 6" cdt's in there no probs, car i bought has very tidy custom rear deck, empty but that will change soon enough

so will a set of 6.5" alpine type s fit with a mdf spacer?
need to chuck some in the ladys 96lx
