Default Seating options for daily/track

Ok so I'm slowly getting the gdb setup for the track, and found out with my helmet on I need to be about 50-60mm lower (alot!), sparco rails on the STD seat would have been my first option, however will only give me 30mm, so now I would like to go fixed back, and looking at the sizing charts the evo xl (sparco) is the only one that will fit my bum well enough to be a daily driver as well. So my question is what have people done when they have a height issue? Any other options to be had? I want things to just bolt up if possible, but sliders are not essential.

Thanks in advance!
Jake.

Low seat sliders + cobra race seat on its lowest setting would fit a 7ft tall giant in my GC8.

If you are really tall, bolt/weld the seat to the floor.

I would go try out the seats at places like Revolution Racegear/GoGear to make sure it fits your backside. Also since these guys are in the business ask them the best way to set up the car in their opinion. I would also go and speak to the rally shops RT/MMS/RMS as to their opinion of setups and what they can offer.

I think VELO are the only manufacturer that have ADR approved seats.

A seat would be the least of my worries as far as yellow stickers are concerned. All about function :P

I have a Sparco EVO L mounted low on sliders using a modified RA-R Recaro slide frame. MMS did it as a one off and it took a lot of fiddling to get it low...not a job that Rob would like to do again! The other issue with the wider seats is that the wings can hit the B pillar.
A fixed mount is a much simpler option and one that MMS could supply & fit readily.

PS I'm 6'2"... though remeber it's not your overall height rather your trunk height which is the issue.

Well my trunk height (guessing this is from seat base to top of my noggin), is 990mm, think I need to sit in a bucket of water for a few days and see if I get any shorter!, I would prefer to have sliders just as it's a daily, slide a little closer on the track days and more relaxed for the daily grind. I might give mms a call and see what the boys can do to help. Cheers!

Jake.

Have you checked out the OMP range? I've got a WRC which isn't made for stick people and they also have the subframe / uprights for a fixed position and a sliding frame also. I have it all set up in my GD and it's my daily.

The OMP setup is certainly worth a look...talk to Ivan at Go Gear.
