Did it myself on friday, was a pain in the ass doing it all myself and learning, and took close to 2 hours.

But now that I know how to do it, it's an easy done job, used adaptors so no splicing was needed, although would have been easy to splice as is.

Nice work. It's always satisfying installing your own stuff

Sure is.

unfortunately, I had to swap the deck around, so instead of being ontop of the little black holder thing, its now underneath it.

constant 12v (red wire usually)
Ignition power (yellow wire)
Earth (black wire)

most speaker wires are a colour with a different colour stripe on it.

2 hours to install a radio and you didn't have to cut and splice? Was there a 1.5 hour break in there?

I am an electronics tech by trade, and I now buy aerpro harnesses as I cannot be arsed crimping, soldering or worse (twist with lecky tape). Well worth the effort for a 5 minute reversion to previous install.
For me they are maybe $20 shipped though. Value plus.
What do they cost in stereo shops?

There was half hour of dismantling seeing as it was the first time I've EVER done anything of the sort, plus another half hour of just makign sure it was all being put back in place.

A good hour or so, was put towards unscrewing the damn bronze screws on the metal casing and the original head unit..

Hi Sulph! The wiring loom adaptors are great aren't they?!
If your like me, and change your mind all the time.... the next step would be to install an amplifier.

If you want more information, I've installed quite a few before just throw us a PM and ill be sure to help you if I can.

Failing that, as has been said before, the guys from Westside Sound and Image will help you out for sure. They are awesome!! In fact, my car will be making its way there sometime over the next few months for some work
