Default interior swaps

i have been thinking about changing over my old 94 interior(seats, dash, gearstick/handbrake plastics) over to something like a 2000 model. Is this hard to do? or is it just a straight swap over? is the sti stuff different?

I think the biggest thing might be the support bar from the dash as I'm fairly sure it is different for the newer GC's than the older versions, everything else should be fine.

Currently halfway through it.

I dont have much of the new stuff will be going back in though as my car will be stripped out to save weight.

Not super hard but in no way easy as 1, 2, 3.

Dash crossmember has a different mount position on the transmition tunnel and there is an extra bracket infront of the gear boot that does not exist on the older cars. Steering column needs to be modified to fit too.

Has been done plenty of times you just need a bit of nouce.

so everything else lines up pretty sweet then?
Can i cut and weld the dash crossmember barcket? or is it easier to drill a new hole? what is the gear boot?
I am good with this sort of stuff as i am apprentice boilermaker and worked on cars abit- so i should be able to wing as i go? thanks for the heads up ill know what to expect now.

The problem will be that every wiring junction is different, so unless you swap the entire car to the wiring loom that suits the dash, ie; the engine loom, the door looms, the rear wiring loom, the ABS pump etc.etc. Then somewhere in the car you will have to unpick a major junction plug and adapt/repin it to suit. This is a major operation that most people would be afraid to do.

my tip is don't do it unless you're planning on dropping an entire engine/wiring loom/dash into your car in one big hit.

my speedo doesn't work, the dash lights don't work etc. but mines a racecar so I never got around to sorting all the problems. it IS doable but it is by no means a sunday afternoon job if its your daily
